LINCS

LINCS is a day program of activities that aims to assist people with a disability who require an alternative to paid employment or further education. The program helps develop the person’s skills so they can work towards their goals, increase their independence and participate as valued and active members of the community.

LINCS is located in both Casino and Lismore, and is funded by the Department of Ageing, Disability and Home care to provide Community Participation programs and other funded day programs for people with disability. LINCS also offers a User- Pays service for people who aren’t funded by DADHC when there are positions available.

Community Participation has two strands of service delivery –

  1. Centre based with community access. Activities are mainly based at the centre with a priority to have a strong presence in the community.
  2. Individual community based option. Activities are focussed in the community with a priority to use generic services and develop networks.

LINCS Casino is located at 39 Barker Street and is within walking distance of the CBD, restaurants, corner stores and the local swimming pool and library. The premises have wheelchair access and easy parking.

LINCS Lismore is located at 210 Keen Street within the Lismore CBD and is close to clubs, restaurants, shops, swimming pool, library and art gallery. The premises have wheelchair access car parking at the front of the building.

Activities at both LINCS services include Community radio presenting, work experience, music, dancing, drama, art and craft, hydrotherapy, gym, tenpin bowling, nutrition and cooking, networking with friends, eating out, community events, education, computer skills, sport and recreation, relaxation, sensory development, living and social skills.
